Getting people around a big school site
Reading schools tend to be large. Split sites, blocks added in different decades, a car park that fills by half eight, and a visitor entrance that first time parents still cannot find. Signage is what holds that together.
We make and fit the lot, from the board on the fence at the gate to the room numbers on the top corridor. Everything is manufactured at our Marlow Bottom workshop, half an hour away, and installed by our own team in Reading.
Signs and graphics we make for schools
Aluminium and steel for anything outdoors, acrylic and painted panel for reception and hall boards, printed and cut vinyl for walls and glass. We match trust colours from a Pantone reference rather than by eye, and artwork stays on file so a second phase looks like the first.

How we work in Reading
Access gets sorted first. A delivery into a Reading school usually means a booked slot, a gate code and someone holding the key for the right block, so we agree all of that at survey rather than on the morning.
Fitting goes in during half term, the summer break or an INSET day. Our installers are DBS checked and carry ID. Where work has to run on a live site we section the area off, work from our own towers, and clean up before we leave. Larger trust rollouts get one project contact throughout.

Reading is a straight run for us, down the A404 to the M4 or across through Twyford. We cover schools right across the town and into the villages around it, and we take on rollouts where a trust holds sites in more than one Berkshire town.

Frequently asked questions
Sometimes, and it depends on the job. Internal door signs and small graphics can go in during lessons with the corridor stewarded. Anything involving ladders, towers, drilling or dust waits for an empty building. We will tell you plainly which category your job falls into.
Yes. Send whatever you have, ideally a vector file, and we will lay out the signs, set the type and send visuals against a photo of the actual wall or gate. Nothing goes into production until someone at the school has signed the drawings off.
Allow six to eight weeks from survey to fitting for a whole site. That covers the survey, a numbering and naming schedule, artwork, sign off, manufacture and installation. Rushed schemes end up with signs that point at the wrong block, so we would rather start early.
Yes. We remove the existing signage, make good the fixing holes where we can, and take everything away with us. Old fascia panels, tired boards and cracked acrylic all leave on our van. Nothing gets stacked behind the caretaker's shed.
We can make new or replacement signs and panels to sit alongside your existing scheme. We do not take on maintenance of other companies' signs, or offer condition checks or maintenance contracts. Send us photos of what needs changing and we will quote.
