Two Oxfords, two kinds of signage
The city centre and the research parks want very different things. In town it is fascias, projecting signs, window graphics and carefully restrained lettering on frontages that have been there a long time. Out at Cowley and along the ring road it is totems, unit identification, building numbering and internal wayfinding across large floorplates.
We cover both from the same workshop. Design and visuals first, manufacture at Marlow Bottom, then our own insured installers on site. The advantage of doing all of it ourselves is that a change of mind at drawing stage is a phone call, not a change order to three suppliers.
What we make
Science and business park work is mostly external and needs to last in an exposed position, so we build in marine grade aluminium and use serviceable LED gear. City centre work is finer, often in painted timber or metal, and set out by hand from templates we take on site.

How we work in Oxford
Access needs planning here more than in most places. Loading in the centre is tight and restricted, so we keep the van time short, and early or late fitting can be arranged on request, at extra cost. On the science and business parks it is the opposite problem: plenty of room, but permits, inductions and booked slots to sort out before we arrive. We do that paperwork ahead of the date.
Research and laboratory buildings often have areas we cannot drill into or rooms we cannot enter during working hours. We agree all of that when we measure up, and supply a method statement on request where the site needs one. Lead times are usually two to three weeks from approved artwork, and we hold specifications on file so later additions to a wayfinding scheme match the original set.
Coverage
Oxford is a straightforward run up the A40 for us, so surveys and installs are easy to schedule, and we cover the city, the ring road parks and the towns and villages around it. Made at our Marlow Bottom workshop and installed by our own team in Oxford.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. We survey the whole site, agree a numbering and naming convention with you, then produce a drawing pack covering every sign position. Manufacturing the set together keeps colours and finishes consistent, and we phase the install so the site keeps running.
We do, alongside the branded work. Hazard notices, room status signs, plant and riser identification and door numbering are all made in house, using materials that stand up to cleaning regimes. It makes sense to order them with the rest of the scheme.
We agree it at survey. Options include structural adhesive fixings, standoff systems into existing framework, freestanding or hanging signage, and magnetic or rail mounted panels for anything that changes often. We will trial the method before committing to a full set.
Yes. We work from your brand guidelines, fonts and colour references, and produce a sign specification that translates a two dimensional identity into materials, depths and finishes. Anything that will not read at the required size gets flagged before manufacture.
We do not offer a formal warranty, but if there is a problem with our work in the first 12 months, we come back and sort it. We do not offer cleaning or maintenance contracts. Since we hold the original specification, replacement parts are made to match rather than approximated.
