The Slough Trading Estate is the biggest single piece of commercial property around here, and signage on it follows its own logic. Long straight roads, large units set back behind yards, and visitors driving rather than walking. Names have to be large, high and readable from a moving vehicle, with unit numbers repeated at the gate and on the door.
Away from the estate, the offices along Bath Road and around the station want something more conventional. Letters on a fascia, a plaque at the entrance, a directory panel inside the door. We make all of it at Marlow Bottom, fifteen minutes away.

Industrial elevations are usually profiled cladding, which changes how signs are fixed. We build trays and letter frames that span the profile and land on the purlins or a spanning rail, rather than relying on the sheet itself. Everything is powder coated aluminium with stainless fixings.

How we work in Slough
Access planning matters more here than almost anywhere. Yards are busy with HGVs, and a cherry picker parked in the wrong place stops a loading bay. When we visit to measure, we agree a working position with the site manager. Fitting is Monday to Friday as standard, and a Saturday or early start to keep the yard running can be arranged on request, at extra cost.
Fixing into cladding is done properly or not at all. We locate the structure behind the sheet, use spanning rails where needed and seal every penetration so the elevation stays watertight. Lead times are around three weeks, and larger fabricated letters sometimes four.

Yes, and it is common work for us. We locate the structural rails behind the sheet, fit a spanning frame and mount the letters or tray onto it, so the weight is carried by the structure. Every fixing is sealed. The sheet itself is never asked to hold the load.
Very large. We have made individual letters over two metres tall at the workshop. Above a certain size the letters are built in sections, transported flat and assembled on site, with a template used to set the positions accurately on the elevation.
We do. Speed limits, one way routes, visitor parking, loading bays and site rules boards, all made to the same standard as the branded signage and installed at the same time. It is cheaper to do it in one visit than to add it later.
Yes. We agree a working area and timing with the site manager and cone off what we need. Weekend or before-shift fitting can be arranged on request, at extra cost. We carry public liability insurance, our installers are IPAF certified for work at height, and method statements and risk assessments are supplied on request.
