There is a certain standard of finish expected on the King's Road and the streets running off it. A tray sign with a wobbly return or letters set out by eye will be noticed. Most of what we do in Chelsea is small in area and high in detail: individual letters, painted metal, brushed brass, hand applied vinyl, and glass work that has to be measured to the millimetre.
We design it, make it at our workshop in Marlow Bottom, and fit it ourselves. Retail, showrooms, clinics and offices all get the same treatment. If a site needs a consent application before the sign goes up, we can supply the drawings for it.
What we make
Chelsea frontages are usually narrow, often on a painted timber or rendered fascia, and rarely allow anything crude. We build to suit the building. Hidden fixings, weathered brass, discreet illumination, and returns that are properly welded and filled rather than folded and hoped for.

How we work in Chelsea
Kerbside space is the first thing we plan. Loading is restricted on most of these streets, so we plan the site visit with the access in mind and keep the van time short. Where the street is busy, an early start can be booked on request, at extra cost. Scaffold and towers get booked properly rather than squeezed in.
Fitting is Monday to Friday as standard. Where a shop or showroom would rather we worked before opening or after closing, we can arrange that on request, at extra cost. On refurbishments we take templates from the actual fascia rather than from architects' drawings, because the two rarely agree. Once installed, we keep your artwork and material spec on file so a second store or a replacement panel matches without another round of samples.

Chelsea sits inside our regular London run, alongside the neighbouring boroughs and the West End. Our London office on City Road handles meetings by appointment, and everything is manufactured at the Marlow Bottom workshop and installed by our own team in Chelsea.

Yes, and most of our Chelsea work is exactly that. Painted timber fascias, brass letters that will patinate, signwritten glass and traditional projecting signs are all within the workshop. We match existing paint colours and fixing details so the new sign does not fight the frontage.
We can. We prepare the drawings and elevations the application needs, then manufacture once it is approved. It adds time to the programme, so we set that expectation at quote stage rather than partway through.
Very. Halo lighting behind letters, a slim trough above a fascia, or a low output LED inside a projecting sign all give you visibility at night without a glowing box. We can dim the output and set a timer so it goes off when the street is quiet.
Yes. Removal, disposal, filling and touching up the fascia are included in the quote when they apply. We photograph the fixing face once the old sign is off so you know what state the substrate is in before the new one goes on.
Usually within a week. Cut vinyl lettering, printed panels and privacy film are made in house, so short runs and small jobs do not sit behind large ones. Seasonal window campaigns for retail are a regular part of what we do.
