Two problems come up again and again on Slough glazing. South and west facing offices that cook from lunchtime onwards, and ground floor glass where anyone walking past can see straight into a meeting. Both are fixed with film, and neither needs blinds.
We specify, cut and apply, measuring on site before anything is made. Solar and heat rejection film for the hot elevations, frosted and etched effect film for privacy, printed vinyl and one way vision for anything that has to carry branding. All fitted on site by our own installers.

How we work in Slough
We check the glazing on site before any film is cut. Solar film on the wrong unit can cause thermal stress, so we check the make up, note whether it is toughened or laminated, and specify accordingly. That is not a detail worth guessing on.
Application is done in place. We need access to the inside face, a clear metre in front of the glass, and no other trades working overhead at the time. We fit Monday to Friday as standard, and an early start or weekend can be arranged on request, at extra cost, so desks do not have to move twice. Curing takes a few days, during which the film can look slightly hazy. That clears on its own.

Frequently asked questions
It cuts a significant share of the solar heat coming through the glass, so the room warms more slowly and the air conditioning works less. It will not turn a glass box into a cold room. We give you the manufacturer's figures for heat rejection and light transmission so you can judge the trade off.
Not necessarily. There are neutral films that reject a lot of heat while letting most visible light through, and darker or reflective ones that reject more but dim the room. We show you samples held against your own glass so you can see the difference before choosing.
Only where there is no internal access, because external film has a shorter life and is exposed to weather and cleaning. Internal application is the default and lasts considerably longer. We will tell you at survey if a particular window has to be done from outside.
Doors and full height glazed screens need markings visible at two heights so people do not walk into them. We normally run a frosted band at each height, or your logo repeated at spacing. Either satisfies it, and the logo version costs very little more than a plain band.
Straightforward. Printed promotional vinyl comes off with heat and goes back on with a fresh set, usually within a morning per window. Retailers running seasonal campaigns often keep a repeating layout so only the panel with the offer needs replacing each time.
