Plenty of businesses in Kensington occupy one or two floors of a building that was never built as an office. Stucco fronted terraces off Kensington High Street, mansion blocks near the church, converted buildings around Earls Court and the studios towards Olympia. Signage on these frontages has to be modest and it has to be fixed carefully.
Most of what we fit here is a plaque, a set of small letters and something on the glass. It is made at our Marlow Bottom workshop and installed by our own team, so one company is responsible from drawing to finished job.
What we make
Small signs get looked at closely, so the finishing is where the money goes. Plaques are engraved or chemically etched and paint infilled. Letters are laser cut and hand finished. Vinyl work is applied to clean, warmed glass and squeegeed properly so there is no silvering at the edges.

How we work in Kensington
We visit to measure before anything is made, because these buildings are all slightly different. Render thickness, sash window reveals, cast iron railings and shared entrance doors all affect what can be fixed and where. We photograph the frontage, measure it and produce a visual so you can see the sign in place before it is made.
Fitting is usually a short, quiet visit. Parking and loading need planning, so we agree a time that avoids the school run and the delivery rush. Dust sheets go down, holes are drilled with extraction where possible, and we clean the glass and the step before leaving.

A multi plate arrangement or a single directory plaque with individual engraved strips. The strips lift out, so a tenant change means one new piece rather than a whole new plaque. We match the existing plate size and finish so the entrance stays tidy.
Not if it is done properly. We drill through the render into the brickwork behind, use resin fixings and seal each hole so water cannot track in. Fixings are kept to the minimum the sign needs, and we make good and touch in the render afterwards.
Yes. Our design team redraws the logo as vector artwork so it can be cut and engraved cleanly. We send a proof for approval before anything is made. The redrawn file is yours to keep and use for other signage later.
We do. Frosted and patterned manifestation films give privacy to ground floor rooms and can carry your logo or a graduated pattern. Solar film is a separate option for south facing rooms that get too hot. Both are applied to the inside of the glass.
Engraved stainless and brass plaques are usually two to three weeks. Cast bronze or brass takes longer, typically four to five weeks, because of the casting, fettling and finishing. We give a firm date once the artwork is approved rather than an estimate.
